a moment

by Mary Elizabeth Coleridge (1861-1907)

A Moment

The clouds had made a crimson crown
     Above the mountains high.
The stormy sun was going down
     In a stormy sky.

Why did you let your eyes so rest on me,
      And hold your breath between?
In all the ages this can never be
As if it had not been.

loving you

by Shannondoah

loving you

i’ve experienced
the greatest joys
and
the deepest sorrows

i’ve swam to
the depths of
my soul
within my
heart’s ocean

i’ve leaped
off the highest
cliffs of Faith
carrying Trust
in one hand and
Surrender in the
other

i’ve felt loved, felt lost
and then felt loved again
all in one
moment

amidst the
greatest challenges

i am still Rising

i Rise with
a Full Heart

i Rise with
Passion and
Honor

i Rise with
a clear, grounded
strength

and
i sing the Unity song
with Love, With Love,

with Love

timing

by Sarah Maguire (b.1957)

Perfect Timing

The night I fell in love with you I lost my watch:
stripping off at the sea’s edge, it fell into the dark
as I swam out into a night thick with stars,
with fisherman calling from one lit boat to another
of their catches and harbours, leaving for the dawn.
Imagine it now, plunged deep in cool sand, still hidden
years later, grains ticking over it one by one-
as your hands slide into me and I move to their pulse.

morning sun

by Shannondoah

in the depths
of my soul
roses bloom
infinitely

every morning
my prayers
to the sun
include

you

our hands

by St.Francis of Assisi (Italy)

Our hands imbibe like roots,
so I place them on what is beautiful in this world.

And I fold them in prayer, and they
draw from the heavens

light.

Great Union

by Shannondoah

i wrap your
love around
me
like a warm
blanket
on cold
nights

your essence
comforts,
soothes
and consoles
my heart

amidst it all

we
rise like
the
butterflies
unto the sun
expanding
and
transforming

the readiness
of our Beings
prepares us
for
the

Great Union

celebration

by LALLA (India)

Playfully you hid from me.
All day I looked.

Then I discovered
I was you,

and the celebration

of That began.
