sudden wind

by Victoria Hamilton
‘In Search of Joy’

A sudden wind

Has swept the swallows

To the sea

To dip and turn.

Foam flecked

By the thundering power

Of those roaring giants

Who fall in crushing folds

Of sea-spawned storms

They soar

and soar

and soar.
