they kept us 

apart

so I made 

a temple

in 

my heart

where we 

could meet

unhindered

next I transformed 

myself

into a golden

dragon

so I could 

build us

a home

in the universe

one on the sun

the other 

on the moon

then I became 

fire

so I could 

transmute

all my 

grief

into the 

flames

your love

lit the way

like a lantern

and suddenly

I could see

your songs

healed my heart

whole

like the river

rushing and

I felt

reborn

I built

a temple

in my heart

where we could

be together 

within infinity

and dance 

with the stars

anytime 

we wanted

Creator 

told me

you'd hear

everything

and know

what to do

the angels

said

to be patient

and to trust

that i'm 

no fool

then sacred prayers

anointed us

and blessed

everything

within us

and

around us

Buffalo Woman said

it had 

to be like this

until

every constellation

agreed

Jesus told Mary

it was good

to cry

the wind

sang

our melody

to Ganesha

and Krsna sighed

but Radha knew

and whispered 

to Yasodhara

and they both 

smiled

the rainbows

shimmered

and the waves

rolled out

all 

our sorrows

and then 

suddenly

what was two

became 

one

and trees sing

Autumn songs

the winds blow colder 

and the light 

shifts

Mother Earth 

prepares us

and 

gifts us

with 

change

the Fall leaves

their warm colors

glow

different

new

Blessed with

We are Thankful

We are Reverent 

And like the wild geese
